Bifenazate is highly effective against all life stages of spider mites (Tetranychidae family) including eggs, larvae, nymphs and adults. It provides excellent control of two-spotted spider mites, European red mites, and other mite species in crops like strawberries, grapes, citrus, and ornamentals. The product offers residual activity while being soft on beneficial insects.
Bifenazate uniquely targets complex III of the mitochondrial electron transport chain, specifically inhibiting cytochrome b Qo site. This biochemical disruption prevents ATP production in mite cells, leading to paralysis and death. The selective toxicity makes it safe for most beneficial arthropods while effectively controlling target mite populations.
For optimal results, apply as a thorough foliar spray using sufficient water volume (minimum 100 L/ha) to ensure complete coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces. Applications should be made during early morning or evening when mites are most active. Proper nozzle selection and spray pressure (2-3 bar) are critical for effective deposition on infested plant parts.
Always wear PPE including chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile or neoprene), protective eyewear, long-sleeved clothing, and shoes plus socks during mixing and application. Avoid inhalation of spray mist and prevent skin contact. Re-entry interval is typically 12-24 hours after application depending on formulation and crop.
Store original containers in a cool (10-25°C), dry, well-ventilated area away from food, feed and seed. Keep containers tightly closed and protected from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures. Under proper storage conditions, the technical material remains stable for at least 2 years from manufacturing date.
